What Triggers Dandruff?

Our hair is our crowning glory which makes every woman proud. Nowadays not only women but men too are proud of their tresses and wish to have silky, shiny hair. But the Problem of Dandruff often mars the beauty and leaves most of us fretting and fuming. We often wonder where we have gone wrong in our hair care regime. For this let us first get to the root cause of dandruff.

Dandruff is scientifically called as seborrhea which often occurs in those parts of the skin which have more oil glands, such as the face, the scalp and our upper trunk. This condition is not contagious and it is first manifested by flaking. The main cause of flaking is the excessive production of skin cells. This often gets so severe that it is accompanied by a severe redness. Dandruff also triggers severe itching which may also lead to wounds and red unsightly patches.

During winters the atmosphere is quite dry and this aggravates the problem. The biting cold acts as a deterrent and we often shun from shampooing our hair. But sadly this act spells doom and aggravates the issue further.Statistics and research has also revealed that dandruff is more prone to occur at puberty and often spurts post 40. People who suffer from issues of the Central Nervous System and Parkinson’s disease too are the worst sufferers.

In normal people too dandruff could be triggered when we do not maintain proper hygiene. Changes in our hormonal balance too may trigger dandruff. Malnutrition, bad eating habits, excessive intake of oily and junk food, improper circulation of blood may all bring us to the verge of dandruff.

People often tend to go overboard while trying to look good. Excessive use of chemical styling products and blow drying your hair regularly too may cause the skin to flake. Using other people’s comb too may lead to dandruff although the condition is not contagious.Unsightly flakes on your clothes and forehead may cause you a lot of embarrassment, but by knowing the cause of dandruff you can surely make some changes to your lifestyle and be safe from this malice.
